To search for bibliographic data of legal texts

  1. Scroll down the Bibliographic Database page until you see the Show Data mask at the bottom left of the page.
  2. Select the legal system in the drop-down menu FROM, e.g. legal_text_de for German legal texts.
  3. Select a search category in the first WHERE entry field, e.g. full_title
  4. Select an operator in the second WHERE entry field, e.g. ~*
  5. Enter a value in the third WHERE entry field, e.g. "Energie"
  6. Select the number of entries to be displayed in the drop-down menu LIMIT, e.g. 5.
  7. Enter a search category in the entry field ORDER BY, e.g. abbreviation.
  8. Select 0 in the drop-down menu COUNT.
  9. Click on SEARCH.
    The legal texts corresponding to the searched for title will be displayed.
    The structure of the display is as follows:
    • Column 1: N: number of the entry in the list of results
    • Column 2: all infos: DETAILS is linked with the bibliographic data of the legal text
    • Column 3: abbreviation: abbreviated title of the legal text
    • Column 4: short_title: short title of the legal text
    • Column 5: language: language of the legal text, e.g. deu
    • Column 6: translation_status: original language (OL) vs. translation
    • Column 7: legal_system: legal system, e.g. DE
    • Column 8: legal_hierarchy: supranational, federal, state or cantonal level, e.g. Bund
    • Column 9: legal_text_type: type of legal text, e.g. Verordnung, Gesetz.
  10. For more information about the desired legal text, click on DETAILS in column 2.
    This will open a new window providing further details.
    The links*doc in cache and/or *doc in www are shown on the bottom line.
    • *doc in cache: The legal text forms part of the corpus.
      Click on it to display the text.
    • *doc in www: The legal text can be found in the internet.
      Click on it to search for the text in Google.
